The Edge of Us

AUGMENTED REALITY

When longing is unanswered, isolation becomes the frame.

Artist Statement

In this augmented reality installation, two portraits confront each other from ornate frames. The woman extends her hand to the edge of her world, straining for connection. The man, though aware of her, retreats, turning away in restless agony before vanishing into shadow.

Her hand remains, blurred and dissolving at the border, a haunting trace of desire unmet. The frames themselves become symbols of confinement: boundaries of self, isolation, and the limits of intimacy.

The Edge of Us reflects the painful universality of rejection, the feeling of being unseen, unwanted, suspended in longing while trapped in one’s own solitude. It asks the viewer to consider the silent spaces between us, and the void left when connection is denied.
